The SMFA Library is proud to announce the acquisition of 6 issues of Avant Garde. Avant Garde was a short-lived magazine, running from 1968 to 1971. Despite it's short existence, with only 14 issues published, it has had a huge impact on the world of design, including its namesake font, Avant Garde. The magazine was very critical of American society and culture and included much erotic content.
